When Jesus left us and went to heaven, the disciples were given a prophecy:
This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven. (Acts 1:11)
Since then, Christians have waited, sometimes impatiently, for Jesus’ return. And because the Bible is full of interesting and tantalizing prophecies and numerical side games, there’s been a steady stream of Christians guessing a particular date for the return of our Lord. And there’s now a “Christian Scholar” proclaiming that he’s calculated the “second coming of Christ to be on 5/21/2011″.
Well, so far, all 100% of them have been wrong, and this will most likely be yet another. Jesus told us this:
But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. (Matt 24:36)
So we just don’t know when Jesus will come. In the meantime:
For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. (Gal 5:5)
